Brainstorming Lunch Food Lovers Cafe Borrowdale
I had a brainstorming lunch with friends last week and we decided
to meet at Food Lovers café in Borrowdale. I agreed with the choice because I had
not yet been there and I was curious. The
weather was mild…though getting slightly too hot for my liking…on arrival, the
first thing I noticed was décor which I loved because it is modern and fresh….see
my photos…I love the wooden tables and chairs and the distressed effect with the white paint. The café is cool and spacious and there is a varanda
with lounge seating outside. The coffee
and food was great, since I had not been to Sam Levys for a longtime, I took a walk
with my friends to see what else has been going on...
Harare Confidential: Coffee Break at Antique Rose Cafe
In between presentations for my project... I decided to take a coffee break at Antique Rose... I have not been there in more than a year...its a romantic, rich, pretty , decadent and charming coffee shop tucked away in the Golden Stairs Nursery on Golden Stairs Road in Mount Pleasant. …I had a spicy chai latte and a warm croissant, with a crusty top and soft interior…..it was a good break but back to the grind....

Afternoon coffee at Queen of hearts...
Friday afternoon coffee and business meeting at Queen of
Hearts …it was another warm day for winter after the fashion of the very warm
winter days that we have been experiencing in Harare… a friend persuaded me to
meet him at Queen of Hearts Café for a business meeting. Meeting was productive …we talked business and
life as we sipped on our lattes…the atmosphere was cool and casual…. I met some new people and we exchanged
ideas…. It was a relaxed sunny winter afternoon…

Picnic at Glen Forest Memorial Park
I went on a picnic at Glen Forest Memorial Park with friends to
remember an amazing friend Murelle Hayes on 14 June 2014, it was sunnier than
expected when we arrived, we chose the perfect spot and set about spreading the
picnic blankets and laying out food and drink. With ABBA music playing in the background conversation
flowed easily as each of the invited guests remembered times with Murelle. We laid flowers at her grave.
I felt that the picnic was a novel way celebrate the great life of
a good friend who was always ready to help anyone, a great advisor, sometimes matchmaker….. a
woman who was kind, passionate about her work and a skilled networker who could
connect people at any level.
A great afternoon was
had by all.
